Emily Hicks, Owner & Decorator Extraordinaire
Vagabond Bakery, LLC is owned and operated by Emily Hicks. An Idaho-native, Emily began working in bakeries at the age of 18 and 20 years later, she is bringing her skills and talents back to Idaho. Emily graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Sociology and since then has worked in bakeries throughout the West, practicing and perfecting her craft.
Emily continuously seeks out new ways to hone her skills as a cake decorator. An innovative and intuitive artist, Emily uses cake, icing, and chocolate to create original and distinctive pieces of art. She finds inspiration everywhere, from nature to paintings to architectural designs, and she infuses the world around her into her work.
Her unwavering dedication and drive to provide a unique and unforgettable experience for every customer sets Emily apart from other bakers. Emily truly loves what she does, and she takes great pride in her work. At Vagabond Bakery, we strive to ensure that your vision becomes a reality.
Emily enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, and has recently taken to shredding it on her mountain bike in the foothills (shredding = white knuckling down hills).
Sarah Ober, Social Media & Accounting Whiz
Sarah’s job is to make sure the day-to-day operations of Vagabond Bakery run smoothly, from accounting to social media. Sarah is a once graduate of the University of Idaho and a twice graduate of Boise State University with degrees in English Literature, Accounting, and German.
Sarah’s background includes marketing and accounting, and she is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Boise State University.
Sarah is a devout world-traveler and has visited over 14 countries. She loves learning about other cultures and languages, but her favorite part of traveling is eating all the delicious foods and drinking all the different beers. In her spare time, Sarah devours as many books as she can, but you can often find her riding her fixie to Prost! downtown.
